Most of the archives above don't even come close to the size of ff.n, so I doubt the technical details will be especially useful to us. The user interfaces of these sites might give us some good ideas, but I agree with astolat and others who've been saying that the code needs to be written from scratch. (Though if you want to go through and figure out which archive uses what, don't let me stop you.)
