Revealing the tag navigation pages will essentially give you this - on those pages, it's possible to see all the subtags for any given fandom. However, it must be said that they won't necessarily be convenient for copy and paste purposes - I just took a look at the Sherlock Holmes page and the list of character tags alone is very very long! One of our aims with revealing the pages as they are, however, is to see how people want to use them, so we may spiff them up in future once we have more use cases.

On a separate note, the behaviour you're describing with the autocomplete is not how it should work! When I type into the autocomplete, it triggers almost immediately. It's difficult to guarantee it will always be this responsive due to differences in browsers / machines / connection speeds, etc, but it would help us if you could submit a Support ticket letting us know it's not working as well as it should do for you. If you submit a ticket from the browser you usually use we'll be able to see your browser details and we may be able to make changes that make the autocomplete work better for you.

Finally, we should note that you don't have to feel compelled to use exactly the name or pairing which is 'canonical' for AO3 filtering purposes, since the tag wranglers will connect different versions up anyway. So, if the autocomplete is being awkward, you can feel free to just type the tag as you think it should look. (We know, though, that a lot of people prefer to use the canonical tags, which is one reason we're making the tag pages visible.)

Thanks!
